If you are from Sydney who wants to see the beauty of spring right at your very own eyes but could not afford 6-hours back and forth drive to and from Canberra for Floriade Festival, Corbett Gardens could be the answer!

Corbett Gardens which is located in Bowral, one of the Southern Highlands of New South Wales offers a large variety of tulips and other flowers that you could fall in love with. An hour and half drive from the busy city of Sydney, you could unwind and be one with nature. I personally like it because it is a very relaxing experience. It reminds me of Leura of Blue Mountains, a quite community with friendly and polite locals. It is better to visit there during weekday as there is not much people you would compete with to get nice photos. Warning: This post is overloaded with flower photos.

The Garden is not really humongous as a lot of people would expect but it houses one of the best tulip displays in Sydney. The best tip I could give when visiting a floral festival is that give a call to find out how the flowers are blooming since weather and time could dictate of  how the flowers would look like. As the Cliche goes, people do not follow their own advice. We did not call when we went there, we were just lucky risk takers.

Photo Above is a random snap where there are group of senior citizens performing a set of European folk dance. I often get humbled when experiencing different kinds of cultural encounters. It makes me realize how less I know about this world and its people. Also, in a way, it excites my curiosity of how people from different places are. Photo below is a man-made pond with real fishes swimming on it.

On the photo above, I wanted to capture the anatomy of a tulip. What went wrong? Too much light, bad framing, incorrect lens and angle, less detailed. Photography Tips, anyone. Photo below shows a Church just outside the Corbett Garden. If my workplace is just located nearby, I would definitely move here.

As much as I want to keep other photos private, these last two pictures with my niece are just too beautiful and unjustifiable if won't be shared.

Every time I cross
the endless horizons of the sea
Waves splashing, flashes back your green eyes
that I could never ever see

Your scent that made my heart beat
erratically falter
Reminded me of the days that I thought
 love would bind us forever

Supply a broken heart and I'll supply the art (al v. esben). I saw some drafts of poetry from a friend of mine. Inspired by it and what she has been through, I decided to knit some words and recreate it. I am glad she likes the output of our collaboration. I wish we can do more of these. xox

Located at 462 Victoria Parade, Aberlour Court is a beautiful secret gem of east Melbourne and indeed a fantastic discovery. By just around 10 minutes away from the Central Business District of Melbourne, it is a very convenient place to stay as it is close to bus stops, tram stop court, and North Richmond metro train station. A slight drawback would be is that it can be a little noisy at night. It did not really bother me that much since I was too tired and had a good sleep from the city tour and sight seeing walks through out the day. Aside from that, it also walking distance close to a fast food shop (for quick breakfast), pub ( late night chill) and a grocery shop that closes at 11pm - it is where we bought our MYKI, Victoria's transportation card.

A cozy vibe welcomes you upon entering the apartment. It was modern, neat and tidy that you can comfortable move around. The bedrooms gave me a homey feeling. With its soft and spacious beds, it was so nice to snuggle and relax after the delayed plane travel from Sydney. A generous delight surprise was hidden in the cupboards where are numerous pillows, woolen blankets and quilts. I was very happy with the idea that there was a terrace that connects the two bedrooms. Chairs are provided outside the rooms, great use for cooling down after strolling around the city. There was a terrace outside the dinning area too. Although we did not use it, I could imagine setting up a mini garden if I would to live there in a much longer period. Speaking about the Kitchen, I was very impressed with its minimalist effect as most of the stuffs were hidden in the cupboard - including the fridge!

The living room has its big comfy sofa bed and centralized heater that will help you keep nice and warm against Melbourne's eccentric temperature.  If security is your main concern, the apartment is secured with a key and 4-digit code in which you must enter inside the separated room for codes. Aside from that, vehicles can be parked inside Aberlour's compound.

During my stay here, it gave me an idea of how I wanted my own flat would be. It was like a home away from home. However, another drawback worth mentioning is that Internet access was quite slow and unsatisfying in my opinion especially whenever I enter my bedroom. Internet was somehow fine but once I move away from the living room I often experience loosing the connection.

Overall, it was a great experience to stay in Aberlour Court while in Melbourne. I would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it to the readers.

I know when there is something special and when there is not.
I know you are special but we have no special knot.
We are plain friends, Very good in fact.
I would want to have that status for now and for tomorrow.
I admit, there are times that i get jealous but nothing serious.
I am very happy to see you happy.
Having you as a friend is more than too much

I love you
But it does not mean I urge you to say to me those words back.
Just let me tell you that I cannot contain anymore what is inside this poor heart.
That these feelings had burst and sprinkled like charmed rainbow dust.

I love you
But I do not know when or how.
Maybe, there is no specific moment.
Maybe, it is like a sluggish spontaneous combustion,
Beautifully ripped apart

To string some words together is not really my forte,
nor to talk about these cheesy stumbling to the world,
is something I thought that I can never, ever go forth.

But you are way too ravishing,
and it is getting a bit contagious,
and maybe, just maybe,
it has rubbed off a little on my virtual torch.

Finding good food is like hunting for treasure. Your wandering feet may get exhausted but it is very exciting and rewarding. Located at Kirribilli, a harbourside subrub, three kilometers north of Sydney Central Business district, Celsius Coffee Co. perfectly sits next to Kirribilli Wharf. It offers both unparalleled food and views. You can find the shop in this subtle alley via Holbrook Avenue, which will head you towards Kirribilli Wharf.

A view from the wharf, Celsius Coffee Co. would look very small outside but inside the shop, the place is so vivid, it's energy is contagious but in a serene way (Photo above). The view from the inside, it is a good place to stop and stare, think, relax, recharge, and appreciate the beauty of the city (Photo below).

When you eat slowly, you are also feeding you soul. What I had was Celsius waffle with assorted berries, maple syrup, lovely surprises of toasted nuts at the bottom, peanut butter cream in the middle, topped with edible flowers and sublimely concluded with sugar icing. I asked the cook if he made the cream, and he said, they all made the food from the scratch.

Instagram helped me to find this shop. Social media is a very good medium to connect with people nowadays. There are a lot shops that would overate what they can offer, and it is more credible to get information directly from the people. Yes, there is a lot of sense of randomly scrolling your phones and yes, I am very happy that the shop reached my expectations.

"I was 16 years old when I started working.
From waitress, I became the hotel supervisor.
I work very hard.
Today, I started working at 7am,
and I am already exhausted
but I did not show it to my boss.
I still do my best"

Here is one of the stupendous things that amaze me when living in Sydney, the things which are whimsically surreal before are closer to reality.

I was still on the train when I saw Lang Leav's post on instagram. Two hours ago (at the time of viewing), she left a few autographed copies of  her new novel Sad Girls at Dymocks Sydney. Yes, she was there, at the very same bookshop that I have been planning to visit couple of days ago, and the very same bookshop that I have been constantly messaging online, enquiring on how to get the autographed bookmarks which will come along with the said novel. She was there, Lang Leav, one of my favourite authors.

I enthusiastically stopped at town hall train station, walked as fast as I can towards the bookshop but I could feel like I was flying with wings at my back. I was in ecstasy, my cheeks are hurting because I could not stop my self from smiling.

I arrived in the shop as if am a frenzy kid looking for a bucket of lollies. I could tell that I was acting weird since I did not stutter any single English word. One of the staff even joked, "Oh! she did not tell you that she was coming" as he led me to the YA section. Another staff who assisted me to where the books are, vividly shared her encounter to Lang, "You missed her! She was here this morning. She literally just walked pass and casually signed the books".

So, I opened the book and slowly flipped the pages. The distinct smell of the paper made me come up with a theory that maybe books mandate our hypothalamus to release Dopamine. A chemical that can cause addiction. Reading, is certainly addicting. Books can never be replaced by electronic paperless reading devices. Old souls such as I, always prefer the traditional ways.

I shall now start flipping pages again. Off I go for an adventure.

A good talk with a patient which started from his experiences in European War.

Patient: Europe is like Southeast Asia, always on War. Which country are you from?

Me: Philippines!

Patient: There's always war in Mindanao because of the terrorists.

Me: I know. Especially now, it's much intensified and they have this theory that the narcopoliticians are protecting these terrorists. They found billions of pesos from a house of an ex mayor who is linked into drugs.

Patient: Ohh Wow. But do you know what's the finest import of Philippines?

Me: Hopefully not drugs.

Patient: Nahh! The People! I have worked with Filipino geologist, helicopter technicians, etc. They were all good, smiles a lot and educated like you.
